Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here’s our classic recipe for oatmeal chocolate cookies

Basic, easy, and just plain good. We’ve added raisins, nuts, M&Ms and white chocolate to this great recipe.

Filling and delicious, these cookies can be a stand-alone dessert or served with other chocolate desserts.

Ingredients

2 sticks of butter or margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup boiling water
2 cups quick oats
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips




Directions

Preheat oven to 350° .

Beat the sugars and butter until creamy, when the sugar is getting dissolved.

Combine the rest of the ingredients. Stir well. Refrigerate the dough for an hour or two for best results.

For easy clean-up, spread aluminum foil on a cookie sheet. Spray well with vegetable oil spray.

Roll cookie dough into golf ball size rounds. Place 12 on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 13 minutes at 350° .
