Hummus Recipe

A very old food, and very good.
Our Hummus Recipe is the best and easiest you’ll find.

A stable, whole protein food designed to withstand the dessert - you’ve got to respect this wonderful food. We used to buy it pre-made, but it’s gotten so expensive that we make our own.

Most grocery stores carry tahini, which is just ground sesame seeds. And you can always get it online at Amazon. Wrap any leftovers tightly with film and store in your fridge - it will stay for some time.

For any party food question, you can always use ASK-a-CATERER for free party recipes and ideas.

Portions/Servings This recipe will feed 24 people.

Ingredients

2 cans of garbanzo beans or chick peas
4 ounces of tahini
2 ounces of lemon juice - concentrate is ok
1 heaping tablespoon cut up garlic
2 scallions
some fresh parsley
a little salt and pepper

Directions

Using a food processor or blender, combine all the ingredients and process until very smooth.

That’s it. (We said it was easy.)

Go ahead and add some more ingredients to this if you like. Red pepper, meaning red bell pepper, is popular. Try increasing the garlic too - lots of ways to go.

Make your own pita bread chips to go with this dip. Buy pita bread, tear it into pieces, sprinkle on some salt, pepper and garlic, and bake for a few minutes in a 400° oven.

Completely versatile, hummus works with veggies, breads, chips - you name it.
