Fried Shrimp Recipes

Fried Shrimp Recipes aren’t all that hard to find -
but this one will hold in your chafing dish

Be sure to get the oil temperature just right - you need 350° exact. Use your thermometer to be sure.

No fried food holds for a long time - but you’ll get the most out of these, assuming you need to hold them at all!

For any party food question, you can always use ASK-a-CATERER for free party recipes and ideas.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pound shrimp
1/2 cup oil
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup beer
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon salt
Oil for deep frying

Directions

Peel and devein the shrimp . We leave the tails on - makes for easier dipping.

Set up your chafing dish if you’re using one. Put a few paper towels in the bottom.

Get the oil to 350° just. Beat the egg and oil, mix it with the flour, milk, beer and salts. If you need to hold the shrimp for more than 20 minutes, also add 1/ teaspoon baking powder.

Use the shrimp’s tail, dip them into your batter and carefully drop into the hot oil. Should be done in under a minute, golden on the outside and white on the inside. You need both.

Into your chafer or serving plate they go. We garnish with lemons and greens. Check out our sauces and the amazing chilled Seafood Cocktail we’re so proud of!
