Clam Dip Recipe

Clam dip is beloved by many, and not as much by others.

We always have an dip alternative when we serve Clam Dip - but make no mistake: This is just wonderful for those who appreciate these yummy bivalves.

Work quickly to keep this under refrigeration. If you have a longer party, or a picnic, use some ice underneath to keep a good chill going on. See our Picnic Food Ideas for good ideas about keeping your cool.

For any party food question, you can always use ASK-a-CATERER for free party recipes and ideas.

Portions/Servings This recipe will feed 24 people.
Read about Party Food Quantities to plan for more or less.

Ingredients

16+/- ounces of chopped clams
8 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces mayonnaise
1/4 cup onion, chopped
2 scallions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions

Drain the clams but save the liquid in the refrigerator.

Combine the rest of the ingredients with the clams. Transfer the dip to a smaller bowl (which can be your serving bowl,) cover tightly with film, and refrigerate overnight.

On the day of your party, uncover the dip and add as much of the liquid you saved to get the consistency you want. Give it a good stir, and garnish with a few shakes of paprika, chopped scallion, chopped tomato, etc - something with lots of color.

This is a chip dip exclusive for us - we stay with potato chips.
