Christmas Office Party Ideas?
Ask-a-Caterer Replies to:
Susan and Ted from Portland, Oregon, who asked:
Susan and Ted write: “Our company changed hands, and now the new Boss wants a nice Christmas/Holiday party, something to “pull us more together,” she says. We have 55 employees, but we think not everyone will come. We have $1,000 for our budget, and have volunteered to do the food. We’ll be serving wine, but not a lot of alcohol, mostly appetizers and desserts. Now what? How can we do this and not go over budget? “
Ask-a-Caterer Replies: Hello Susan and Ted - Good for you to volunteer! We’ve got lots of ideas to help you.

are both easy to make ahead and serve at the office.
And really good!
No matter what hot foods you serve, you want to use a Food Warmer or two to keep your hot foods hot. Read all about how they work and where to get them.
For 30+ more Appetizer Recipes that are easy to make ahead and keep warm, read our Appetizer section and don’t forget our Snacks and Snack Recipes, including Crescent Pizza - which is just fabulous, and cheap!
And how about some Salads? More and more, people enjoy the quality, color and healthfulness. Caesar Salad is still the fav!
Here you’ll find dozens of Chocolate Desserts, but check out the Chocolate Fondue Shortbread. This is too good, very simple to bake ahead and assemble at the party.
You should be able to have a few appetizers and a dessert or two, and come in under budget. We’d suggest that you limit the wine to a simple toast, maybe with an inexpensive sparkling wine.
